Okay, so the real joke's about Bush, but *why would Luke choose to put his name in Bush's place? Delusions of grandeur? Does he believe himself to be as hated by Bush, globally? Does he really think he's that important in to the grand scheme of things? Evidently.

We owe it to her, to have her back as she struggles through her Booze rehab. And I have personally enjoyed all her posts since she took up sobriety.
Luke is fine, his writing is going to get some of the edge back from this latest crisis with Holly.

OMG See this is why I lose it and my cool jaded detachment and go gaga over Holly....she knows her Lit! Swift is such a rich, deep figure relative to his time period and literary accomplishments, to study him you MUST know English History and even WORLD history of his time period, so it is much more than simply studying Literature. Knowing which end of the egg to crack first is VITAL, Holly! Which end do you crack first, the Big End or Little End? 
True, Modest Proposal was brilliant (and entertaining for those with half a brain!) in its own right, but Gulliver is timeless and reaches across all audiences and age groups. My 9 year old niece Mackenzie received it in her latest batch of Literary classics that I bought for her a while back...I think she will enjoy it, she is whip smart, and I cant wait until she reaches the part of the story where Gulliver has to Pee on the Liliputian House to put the fire out and she tells her Grandma (my mother) about it (my mom knows NOTHING about literature, so no doubt she will say to me "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GIVING HER TO READ!?!?!")

Luke is a Journalist William. I dont disagree with the other aspects of your statement, about him trying to maintain a detached, superior position as he reports and observes the carnage. He was always knocking Holly and getting in thinly veiled jabs about her as a pornographer whenever he could...sometimes they worked in terms of being entertaining and introspective, other times they were just plain mean and obviously intended to piss Holly off or hurt her (no doubt due in part to her dumping his ass.)
But LUKE IS A JOURNALIST....I didnt say if he is a good or bad Journalist, he just is one...his potential as a writer no doubt is there, and he is clearly intelligent. But thats about it. He does use Satire sometimes, and my point in making the comparison to Jonathan Swift was also satirical in its own way... Holly is simply brilliant, and having been with Luke for as long as she has, and as close as she was, she is in the best position compared to everyone else to make conclusive and judgemental statements about Luke.
But you are nuts for calling Ceara Fat. She doesnt need me to defend her beyond stating my OWN opinion, so I will simply say "YAY!" for chicks who actually eat and smoke pot so that they have healthy looking, "non-methorexic" bodies.

I really wish Luke would get whatever ails him fixed and then turn his attention on better, more worthy subjects than porn.
His writing in general is good, but he needs to set his sights on something more socially worthwhile than 'revealing' the fact that a lot of people in porn are scumbag operators. Then he would truly regain my respect and become a force to be reckoned with.
