Kurt Lockwood: adult star, rocker

LOS ANGELES — Adult star and rocker Kurt Lockwood saw the change coming, and he was ready. Besides his adult work, Lockwood plays in his rock band, raises money for charity and pursues those ever-elusive mainstream gigs -- all while staying ahead of the next big change in the adult biz.
"We live in an age when the DVD is dying," Lockwood told XFANZ.(Existential philosopher career secured)
So how is the 36-year-old Baltimore native planning to survive? By rocking out and branching out, of course. Last June, Lockwood held the first Pornopalooza, an adult-themed rock-and-roll show that raised $5,000 for charity. Naturally, adult biz luminaries like Ron Jeremy and Jenna Jameson showed up, but while onstage, Lockwood looked into the crowd at Hollywood's Whisky a Go Go and saw Poison's C.C. DeVille, the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter and Lost Boys star Corey Feldman. Lockwood said that Carter was so stoked about the show that he offered to produce Lockwood's next album,( Corey Feldman posts here, right? )and though there's been no further word on that front, Lockwood said he's looking forward to the second Pornopalooza. He's shooting for sometime this month.
"We were just having fun, but you look down and it had taken on a life of its own. We were actually able to give something back," Lockwood said, referring to the five grand, which he donated to AIM -- that's where most L.A.-based adult stars get tested every month for STDs. (A true philanthropist at heart)
A new breed of adult entertainment
Lockwood's rocking and rolling has also helped make his experience as an adult star even more awesome -- if that's possible. He directed his first adult movie this year, The Decline of Western Civilization, part 69: (clever and original) The Porno Years, and he didn't just film a bunch of boinking for his freshman flick. No, Lockwood combined his forward-thinking with his love of punk rock to produce what he called the first entry in a brand new category.
"My thesis for it was to make the first 'pornumentary,'" he said. "You see us getting tested for AIDS. It humanizes us. You see us as more than just two-dimensional sex puppets." 
Lockwood modeled Decline after Penelope Spheeris' punk rock documentary series The Decline of Western Civilization. Spheeris, who directed Wayne's World, had actually been given money to make an adult movie, but convinced her backers to let her make the first Decline, Lockwood said.
Decline and its soundtrack album are available for download.
Chasing the dream ... to Russia
Incidentally, performing the soundtracks for his adult flicks has helped Lockwood realize his dream of becoming a rock star -- sort of.
"It's almost like being on an independent label. I've gotten e-mails from Greece and Ireland. There was this one guy in Russia who said 'I love your stuff. I'm going to go down to my basement and jam with it right now,'" Lockwood said. "We make our dirty little movies in the Valley, and there's some guy in St. Petersburg who loves it." (Priceless! Xbiz is total crap.When me and 5 Star got busted they did a story about it and just made up there own facts.50% of the article was complete bullshit.On the other hand AVN also did a story but they actually took the time to call me and my attorneys to find out what was really going on so dont believe what you read in XBIZ because its horseshit.

It's good that AVN has some proper competition...it will keep them on their toes and hopefully lead to a better mag.
I have to say I'm getting tired of hearing AVNers bitch about how XBiz or the Temptation awards are 'stealing their business model' though...grow up! It's like McDonald's bitching about other burger joints.
Now we just have to see if Luke Ford's prediction about AVN being sold is true...all I know is that those two weeks he specified are gonna be up pretty soon.
