In Defense of Sharon Mitchell, and AIM

Sharon Mitchell is a person who saw a problem, and tried to solve it.
She created a system that was a very good FIRST attempt at self-regulation.
AIM and Sharon Mitchell have saved lives.
You, yourself, could have become a dead person, if Sharon Mitchell and AIM did not exist.
Was this first system perfect?
No, it wasn't.
Was it flawed?
Yes, it was.
But was it noble to create such a thing, that may have SAVED HUNDREDS of LIVES?
Absolutely.
Ms. Mitchell, and AIM- deserve praise, not wrath, for what they have accomplished.
At least they did something.
They saved lives.
Will a better, safer porn industry rise up from the ashes of this moratorium?
Yes, it will.
And will Sharon Mitchell and AIM be a part of that safer, saner industry?
Yes, they will.
Even with Mandatory Condom Use in porn, AIM and Sharon Mitchell will still be very, very valuable assets in the porn community.
You people should be thanking God that this epidemic has stayed put where it has, and you should be thanking Sharon Mitchell and AIM for having a role in that.
Remember...
You can't imagine HUNDREDS of lives that COULD HAVE been lost if Ms. Mitchell and AIM hadn't done what they did.
It was a great first attempt, and these people deserve PRAISE.
They certainly have my respect.
I see them as heroes, and I see their efforts as valiant.
A great man once said that all human achievement is created by standing on the shoulders of giants.
We build on our losses, as well as our wins.
I hope Ms. Mitchell and her staff at AIM know that God and all of the people with brains in their heads appreciate the attempt they made at creating a very good first system.
I wish them the best of luck as we set off on this new course, Mandatory Condom Use, and I'm sure they will remain just as valuable to the industry as they were before.
The Angels saw your efforts, and you are remembered.
You DID something. You ACTED. You CREATED.
Sharon Mitchell and AIM have my respect, and my best wishes.

I don't think a love of God and a love of porn need to be mutually exclusive.
In fact, if I was God, I'd probably watch porn, as long as the people in it aren't getting hurt.
I mean, we're really all just a bunch of electrolized carbon cells bumping up against each other, aren't we? Why the hell would God be against that?
The only thing that perverts a love of God is organized religion.

AIM alone can't regulate the porn industry. Responsibility has to be shared between them, the performers, the directors, etc.
