The Mid 90's saw a huge boom in Heroin use in general (and NO, it wasn't cuz of Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.) I personally know 4 former friends, business partners and / or classmates who derailed cuz of their love of JUNK. In 1996, in a span of 8 months, One chick (MBA, fairly hot but uptight) went from a $185K Marketing Executive Position in South San Fran to screwing visiting Japanese businessmen for $300 a pop, stealing CDs 2 at a time from friends (like me), living in a van and eating Skittles morning noon and night.

She was able to remain strangely funcitonal in spite of her use, and during times when she had plenty of dope, she still looked and acted kinda normal, including a relationship with a sometimes-dopefiend boyfriend. In the end after 2 years, however, just before "the family intervention", she was always pale and always sweating.

Da Burglar can probably attest, intravenous use is hardcore and wasn't really a staple of '90s addiction until people went around the bend on it. There was actually a myth back then that you couldn't get hooked if you just inhaled (chasing the dragon) and stayed away from needles altogether. Yeah Arab, true more or less: the smoking/sniffing of "H" took off circa 1992, purity levels increased anywhere from 5 to 7 fold. The stigma of needles was removed and all of us white upperclass hypocrites could indulge without feeling....*gasp*...like a skid row bum. Well, lacking anything better to do this afternoon, I posted to this thread to share my observances based on Smuts original question only, speculating on her Heroin use.
Linking the heroin to her HIV was not my intention/speculation, and I agree with you that if people are attributing her HIV to a needle full of Mexican Brown rather than Wallice's Needle-dick full of Viral-DNA-Run-Amok, she should be pissed.

That being said, Tricia was hot during her heyday, exhibiting a debauched gothic heroin decadence that worked really well in her porn scenes.

She was indeed a superlative whore in her time and of that she can be justly proud. A couple of things worth pointing out:

At that time Marc Wallice wasn't some marginal meatpuppet. He was effectively A-list (yeah it was that bad back then). Marc had been in the business for a dozen or more years, was well known & was friends with many people in all parts of the business. Tricia has said that she turned down shooting with some new guy (either Brandon or Erik Everhard, I can't remember) to shoot with Marc instead because Marc was established & trusted by everyone ... and she thinks that's the shoot where she was infected by HIV.

I don't recall Luke backing off on the story. Luke kept beating the drum until Patrick Collins (Marc worked at Elegant Angel at the time) finally made Marc get tested for real. Had Luke not kept at it Marc might have gotten away with it for longer.

What struck me at the time was that Luke wasn't told by Elvis that Marc was The One, nor did Luke discover this on his own. Someone told Luke. That means someone knew. I have never heard who finally blew the whistle; it was probably a friend of Marc's or an employee at Elegant Angel, but it still leaves open the question of how they knew. It may be someone had seen Marc's tests and noticed a pattern of suspect, perhaps faked, results. But it may also mean people other than Marc knew he was performing while HIV+.

I don't remember AIM “releasing� Marc's older tests. I think AIM started after the Marc Wallice outbreak? Federal privacy laws on medical tests wouldn't have allowed releasing results anyway unless Marc had signed the right kind of release, which probably wasn't done at that point (prior to Marc I don't recall people thinking in terms of deliberate fraud – they just wanted to make sure people got themselves tested).

This is one of my favorite scenes of all time. Concerning the part where Chloe eats the cum out of Tricia's ass, there is a look on Chloe's face just before she dives in head first; I can't really describe it because it's quite subtle, but it just screams "how did I end up here?" I've beat off to this a number of times.
