I found this statement by our almost-governess compelling...from lukeisback:

Ok I lied...I didnt find it compelling....I laughed my ass off...READ the whole statement slowly, intermixed in your head with several of your favorite Mary Carey Porn scenes, and we have the 2006 first half winner of delusional quote of the year.
The non sequitur of the year award is also potentially found in this quote...but really folks (and luke)...I want to KNOW who the pregnant ADULT STAR-who'd-never-think-as-deep-as-Mary is....Who is this future inhabitant of Maged's list that Mary speaks of...???
I've often felt as Mary does....that I see and know shit that no one else can or will see...and typically, like Mary, I often appreciate the fact that were I in fact, pregnant, I would not be Thinking the things I am currently thinking.

I agree with you, Holly, I don't think Mary's "smart". Manipulative is more accurate.
Mary uses other people (most often Tawny Roberts), telling embarrassing stories--true or untrue--about them, to keep Mary's name in the porn media. Tawny Roberts (Mary's All Time "Chump" Award Winner), Kendra Jade, and Cassiddy immediately come to mind.
Mary's drama usually trashes someone else's image. If you go back and read all of the quotes/phone-in's to Luke Ford from Mary over the past two years, you'll notice that Mary is always putting someone else's dirty laundry (real or not) out on the street. Not to play Dr. Phil: but it seems to me that Mary has a very low opinion of herself and by publicly revealing the mis-steps, faults (Tawny's alleged drinking problem) of other--prettier? more popular?--porn girls, it allows Mary to feel better about herself.
Also, her running for Governor of California is another example of Mary using people (this time outside the porn industry) who are more popular/have greater name identification to garner publicity for Mary.
Mary-the-Manipulator. Maybe she should use that in her current, publicity-seeking, campaign for Governor of California.
